The biggest lesson I learned is that in web design, plans change quickly and complex information requires organization. New York City is endlessly complicated, which forced me to develop strong information architecture skills—taking massive amounts of data and breaking it down into scannable categories. To build authentic, logical itineraries, I studied how real locals navigate the boroughs via TikTok and used my geolocation skills to pinpoint exact photo locations based purely on their surrounding environments. I used HTML, JavaScript, and my favorite—CSS—with the help of Google Search and AI tools like Gemini. I learned how to effectively communicate with AI, sharing browser inspect code and refining my prompts to have the exact custom layouts I needed. I also learned to think like a UX designer, transforming this massive information into highly scannable, actionable data points for mobile users on the go.”
